How to Apply
Winsor's Admission team looks diligently at every girl who applies, seeking students with demonstrated intellectual curiosity, academic ability, motivation, and spirit. Winsor welcomes applications for Grades 5 through 7 in our Lower School, and for Grades 9 through 11 in our Upper School. Most students enter Winsor in Grades 5, 6, or 9. Openings in Grades 7, 10, and 11 are more limited.
Guidelines for Gender Inclusion at The Winsor School
The Winsor School is a girls’ school that values diversity, intellectual curiosity, authentic engagement, and personal integrity. Winsor is unwavering in its commitment to preparing young women to pursue their aspirations and contribute to the world. We seek applicants who further the school’s mission and feel they belong in our community dedicated to celebrating and empowering girls and women. Winsor will consider for admission any applicant who identifies as female or any applicant assigned female at birth who does not identify as male. Winsor will always be committed to knowing, valuing, and supporting students throughout their time at the school. Should a current student identify as a different gender while at Winsor, the school will support the student and their family as members of the Winsor community; the student will always have a home here.
Our application for the 2024–2025 school year is now available.
The admission process begins in September and ends in January for admission during the following school year. Admission decisions are available online in March.
As a day school without SEVIS certification, we cannot issue I–20 forms for student visas or accept student applications from citizens of other countries. Americans living abroad should contact our office for assistance in accessing the domestic application.

- Create an online Ravenna account. Please use an email address that you will have access to throughout the admission season, as this will be your primary email contact with Winsor.
- Add The Winsor School to your application list by searching the Greater Boston region. Once you add the application, you will see all of the necessary steps detailed.
- Complete the Preliminary Application and submit it with the application fee. If paying the application fee is a hardship for your family, please email admission@winsor.edu to request a waiver code.

Book your interview and campus visit through Ravenna after you have submitted the preliminary application with the application fee or waiver.- Families with applicants to Grades 5 and 6 should schedule an Adult Family Member Zoom interview in addition to reserving a spot for their student in the in-person Group Interview.
- Families with applicants to Grade 7 should reserve a spot for their student in the in-person Group Interview.
- Families with applicants to Grade 9 should schedule an Adult Family Member Zoom interview in addition to reserving a spot for their student in the in-person Tour and Group Interview.
- Families with applicants to Grades 10 and 11 should reserve a spot for their student in the in-person Group Interview.

Register for and take the appropriate standardized test. You should plan to take the appropriate test between September and the middle of January.- Applicants to Grades 5, 6, or 7 should register for the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Winsor’s code is 220405.
- Applicants to Grades 9, 10, or 11 should register for the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT)*. Winsor’s code is 8245.

The Character Skills Snapshot
Character and personal growth are an integral part of an education. Grades and test scores don't tell the whole story of any student. The Character Skills Snapshot gives richer holistic information and illuminates areas where Winsor can help your student grow and thrive.
Winsor recommends taking The Character Skills Snapshot along with the SSAT. Once a student registers for an SSAT date, the student will have free access to The Snapshot.
